Riad Smara sits in the middle of a riot of Colour, Culture, Hustle and Bustle, street vendors selling Carpets, Lamps and Jewellery nestling side by side with Bakers, Wood workers, Bicycle Repair shops and everything in between in essence a handicraft area which reflects the true diversity of the Red City.

Welcome

We take great pleasure to welcome you to Riad Smara named after the mythical city of Saints and Sheikhs in Morocco. We are a gentle level walk of seven minutes from the famous Spice Square and another few minute walk will bring you to the world famous square Jemma El Fna. Inside the Riad it’s an oasis of calm where you will be met with complimentary mint tea, drinks by the pool or on the rooftop terrace.

Activities

A trip to Morocco would not be complete without trying a gentle Camel Ride. These are in close proximity in Marrakech and the ride can last from 15 minutes to one and half hours.

As the new owners of Riad Smara we have refurbished all the rooms to reflect the vibrant colours, textures and handicrafts of Morocco. Each of our rooms incorporate hand beaten metal and painted furniture and carpets from different areas of Morocco.
